Thermal region: Description

The region Thermenregion lies in the east of Lower Austria and comprises the districts of Mödling and Baden. The region borders in the north on the federal capital Vienna and the name derives from the sulphurous springs of Baden. The Thermenregion is also a historically important wine-growing region, which also includes parts of the regional constituency of Lower Austria South. In addition, Lower Austria South, the largest commercial area in Austria, is located in the region.
