Second residences: Description
A secondary residence is a residence which is not the principal residence of a person but exists alongside it. Typical secondary residences are, for example, holiday or weekend houses. Alternatively, a secondary residence may also be necessary for professional reasons if a not insignificant part of the working time is at a considerable distance from the actual residence. In this respect, the secondary residence rate is a guideline for the type of use of housing and thus also provides information on settlement and value. Note the significant differences between the various communities and districts, which are characterised by either particularly high or particularly low values. In combination with other attributes such as land prices, it is often possible to draw conclusions about the attractiveness of a region.
Similio offers numerous Second residences comparisons with interactive maps. There is a separate map for each Austrian municipality. Further maps for Second residences are available at the level of political districts, landscapes, regions and at the level of federal provinces.
