Wine quarter: Description

The Weinviertel region lies in the northeast of Lower Austria and comprises the districts of Korneuburg, Mistelbach and Hollabrunn. The region borders the Czech Republic in the north and the Danube in the south. The region's name is characterised by viticulture, which has a high degree of popularity due in particular to the Grüner Veltliner grape variety. In cultural terms, the Weinviertel is characterised in particular by a large number of castles and palaces.
