Forest quarter: Description
The Lower Austrian regional constituency of Waldviertel lies in the northwest of the province and comprises the districts of Krems an der Donau, Zwettl, Krems (Land), Gmünd, Waidhofen an der Thaya and Horn. The region borders the Czech Republic in the north and is separated from the Mostviertel by the Danube in the south. The Waldviertel is considered to be structurally weak and is particularly characterised by agriculture.
