Cider Quarter: Description
The Lower Austrian regional constituency of Mostviertel is located in the southwest of the province and comprises the districts of Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Scheibbs, Amstetten and Melk. The region borders Upper Austria in the west and Styria in the south. The name of the region is derived from Mostanbau. Geographically, the region is characterised by the hilly landscape of the Alpine foothills. The Mostviertel is also characterised by a multitude of sights such as the Melk monastery and sporting facilities such as the Göstling-Hochkar ski area.
