Linz and surroundings: Description

The Upper Austrian regional constituency of Linz and the surrounding area is the political and economic centre of the province. The region lies along the Danube and borders the Lower Austrian Mostviertel to the east. Historically, Linz and its surroundings are part of the Traunviertel district in the south. The region is also an important traffic junction due to the Westautobahn, the Westbahn and Linz Airport.
