Eastern Tyrol: Description
The region East Tyrol lies in the southeast of the federal state and is separated from the rest of the federal state by Salzburg and the Italian part of Tyrol. Osttirol consists of the district of Lienz and borders on Italy. Geographically the region stretches between the Hohe Tauern in the north and the Carnic Alps in the south.
